October 2017 Beach Portrait Workshop by Kansas Pitts Styled Vintage Camper Session and Lots More!

This weekend I taught the first Beach Retreat workshop since Hudson was born and it was awesome! We didn’t even let Hurricane Nate ruin our plans, we simply shifted them and got everything done and got all the ladies back on their planes in time to beat any closures or delays so yay! So I am BACK! Or as Jerry Maguire said in one of his epic speeches….We are so very back! In fact, I am finally gong to practice what I teach…planning ahead…with that being said, the 2018 South Walton dates are open for booking. Look at me listening to what I told all the girls this past weekend 🙂 If you are interested in a Beach Retreat please check out the dates and pass them along to anyone you think might be interested HERE.

So instead of our planned Welcome Dinner on Friday we moved our styled session to Friday afternoon (from Saturday afternoon) and rocked that pre-storm sunset at Grayton Beach. Then we went and had a fabulous mexican Welcome Dinner at Cantina Laredo….Using a 1976 Scotty that I got from Jennifer West-Porter in Nashville, Katelyn and I spent a week rehabbing it to get it ready for the session. We painted it inside and out and outfitted it with the cutest props…we had retro phones and record players (with Girls just Wanna Have Fun spinning) and even bubbles and giant macaroons, with just the right touches of gold. Our amazing girls had a blast…its amazing that you can throw 5 girls (ages 4-9) who have never met one another together and they mesh like old friends. They danced and played and it was so much fun to capture as you can see from the Behind the Scenes video above.

Then we got up bright and early Saturday morning (sunrise was at 6:40 am but we had to chat beforehand 🙂 and shot Luke & Suzanne and their boys on the beach just as it started to cloud up from the storm..

And finally we traveled to a basic grass road with a few simple props to make a little (albeit cloudy) magic <3

Then we headed back to the studio for lots of learning, homemade lasagna, and more shop talk plus the goodie bags…love these girls! Having a great group of women truly makes the workshop even more amazing!

I was showing the girls some editing tricks and they were impressed at the moment-Liz captured them watching me; she said we were cute!
