erin + adam | boardwalk beach resort wedding and reception

I had only spoken with Erin on the phone during her planning process- she lives in Illinois but had always vacationed here as a child and throughout her life. Her daddy lives here now-she called him her little “Jimmy Buffett daddy” 😉 When I walked in I was struck by simply how beautiful Erin was and also how laid back. She and Adam have been together for 10 years & wanted this to be a fun, easy wedding and that is what they got. Everyone was fantastic! They had the ceremony under the pavilion which was a good thing because right as they were saying their vows the rain began to fall so hard but it only lasted a minute and then, as you will see, God gave us the most gorgeous skies to finish their fabulous day. Erin said it felt magical as she said her bows and listened the to rain fall. The other unique touch that I LOVED about this wedding were the readings…no bible verse, no poems (traditional ones anyway), but they had a passage from “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Suess read. I love love love that.

I glanced out to the beach and noticed the sun set so I grabbed Erin & Adam and said, I know you may not want to be pulled away, but you MUST come with me for a few minutes. They followed me to the beach and I took a few images but mostly Erin laid her head on Adam’s shoulder and they watched their first married, beach sunset together-the first of many! NExt year, she said, they may be coming back with a little someone extra 😉
