my little pirate | a pirate themed image is born

I don’t usually do many before & after’s – not sure why because it is truly amazing to see an image taken from something special to really neat 😉 I have had this idea in my head a little bit but just hadn’t found the time to put it into motion. This past weekend, though, I thought I would try to fit it in. I didn’t really think it would happen-we left on the boat at 10 am so I knew we probably wouldn’t make it to almost sunset (my favorite time to shoot which is almost 8 pm) but I packed the little pirate outfit in with our sunscreen and nets just in case. We were out letting the kids kneeboard behind the boat because the water was like glass Sunday morning and a huge storm cloud came over. My hubby, knowing me, said this may be your chance. Once Greyson got off the kneeboard we headed over to a spot on the bay (yes the color of the water was changed!) and Greyson literally put on his outfit over his sunscreen slick body and wet swimming trunks. My husband carried him out to two spots real quick (slicing his foot wide open on an oyster shell!) and we literally took the images within 5 minutes tops. I didn’t know if they would work and I certainly wasn’t thrilled to not get sunset images but I thought I would just see-I could always redo the shot if I needed to.

Yes, that is my 4 year old catching some air before the big shot 😉
