When I found out my cousin, Kate, was pregnant way earlier last year I was absolutely elated for her. She joked about wanting me to be pregnant with her but I KNEW that wasn’t going to happen….little did I know, within months, my entire life would change in almost every way possible. It has been a crazy ride that I honestly still feel like I have a little whiplash from but…her crazy jokes about us being pregnant together and my previous jokes (literally 7-8 years ago after my LAST baby, Hudson, was born) about me being the woman who would wind up pregnant in her 40’s, CAME TRUE!
Such a crazy beautiful way to turn the page from a disaster…so here we are, first cousins (our daddy’s are brothers ) 10 years apart, having babies probably about 16-17 weeks apart. She & Chadd are having a baby boy, Hendrix, and Scott & I are having a sweet baby girl, Fallon Duston. Things have such a beautiful way of working out.
As I type this, I can feel her wiggling around in my belly…according to the ultrasound tech she likes to be head up (hopefully not all the way through though) and butt down with her feet kicking my bladder and facing the back of body so that her little bottom is always a knot right below my belly button. I forgot how incredible it is to feel those little kicks.
Before she went into labor (she will be 40 weeks on Thursday) we ran out to the beach a few mornings ago to capture this moment. The sugar white sand literally felt like walking on snow but the beach sunrise was gorgeous. And you know how much I love everything gold and sequins so we went with that theme; sequins, a tripod, and about thirteen minutes of cold beach air came out absolutely perfect! After being out the game for so long I need all the recommendations I can get so follow me on IG and answer all my kindof “new mommy” questions and watch Miss Fallon’s charcoal and rose gold nursery take shape HERE. Also, I apparently have an anterior placenta so I am curious what everyones experience has been with that because it is my first with that!
My dress is from Badgley Mischka and is not a maternity dress but whatever fits right?! Wearing it here non pregnant in NYC https://kansaspitts.com/the-girls-in-nyc-a-dramatic-brooklyn-bridge-image-at-janes-carousel-in-dumbo/
