Ahhhh nothing like trying to plan a beach vow renewal in the middle of both Covid and building a gorgeous house! I think the plans changed a few times as Jed and Christina decided how to celebrate this milestone but regardless of plans had, I think it turned out gorgeous! We got up at sunrise and to see the sunrise on Grayton Beach and make use of that cool morning air (and it actually was cool) and the sun rising over Western Lake. I see a lot of people in 30a groups not understanding “brown water” when these lakes open to the gulf intermittently through the year. It is just lake water but it is dark because of the tannins in the water and every so often, due to environmental factors, they open up to the gulf sending the dark water in to the sparkling gulf. Depending on the tides the gulf water can actually push its way pretty far back into the lake and it is quite a site (image below). For more info on this phenom and these exceptionally rare coastal dune lakes check out https://30a.com/coastal-dune-lakes-water/

Western Lake Flowing Out

The Gulf Flowing Back into Western Lake
I got a little off track there 🙂 But also, below you will see a drone image of the lake and gulf completely separated so now you have the entire story lol! It was a gorgeous morning on 30a and these sunrise beach pictures of Jed & Christinas Beach ow Renewal was perfect with their kiddos there to witness it. Making it 15 years these days is definitely a milestone! Congratulations you guys!
