Babies & Beaches | The Hawaiian Experience with Keri Meyers & Kansas Pitts
Join award winning photographers, Keri Meyers & Kansas Pitts for this once-in-a-lifetime experience on the beautiful island of Kauai (South Shore). Keri & Kansas have teamed up to offer you this two day workshop that will undoubtedly change your photography and business more than you can imagine. Together, Keri & Kansas will cover not just newborn portraiture, but outdoor children and family portraiture giving you a well rounded workshop and skill set to take home and boost your entire portrait business. This two-day workshop is a comprehensive and intense learning experience covering indoor newborn portraits using studio light and outdoor beach portraits with both newborn, children & families using natural light.
Keri will cover camera settings, her studio lighting set-up, white balance and how to get the perfect exposure and best image SOOC. We will show you how to master posing newborns, transitioning between poses, soothing techniques and how to work with parents. You’ll dive into post processing and learn how Keri gets those creamy skin tones and clean images. Please note there is no hands-on posing with large group traveling workshops. You will take home Keri’s Newborn Actions: Clean & Classic and No More Purple & Red Hands/Feet, a post processing video to help you create clean and classic newborn portraiture, 10+ pages of Newborn Review and a Gift Certificate to The Shop PLUS a swag bag full of goodies from our Sponsors.
Kansas will not only be assisting Keri in the studio newborn portion but will also talk about finding pleasing light during the daytime hours, working with light on the beach at the golden hour with both newborns and families, connecting with and posing families & children, bringing out the fun in family sessions, and working with unconventional lenses and angles for a unique style. Not only will you see her workflow and editing in person, you will take home an exclusive set of collaborative actions from Kansas & Michelle Kane, Sky Collection and a post processing video to help you create dynamic, eye-catching images.
All images that you take during the workshop can be used to build your online portfolio and for marketing purposes if desired.
Tuition | $3200 USD for two days – Newborn + Family/Child Class (lodging not included)
$1800 USD for one day – Newborn Class OR Family/Child Class (lodging not included)
Duration | One or 2 full days of class and optional dinner with Keri & Kansas on Friday night. We’ll be starting at 9am and wrapping up around 6:00pm both days.
Day 1 (12/6) Newborn Class with Keri (indoor with studio lights and outdoor shoot)
Day 2 (12/7) Family & Children Class with Kansas (outdoor shoot)
Attendees | limited to 10 photographers per class
Registration | Registration will open Monday, July 29th at 10am PST/1PM EST. Deposits for one or both classes can be made here.
Payment | $500 USD retainer to reserve your spot. Final payment due on or before November 6th, 2013.
Cancellation | $500 USD retainer/booking fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. If you are unable to make the workshop your tuition will be refunded in full (excluding the $500 deposit) if we are able to fill your spot.

Requirements | basic knowledge of Photoshop (Lightroom is plus), a DSLR (it is assumed you know how to shoot in manual mode and have basic understanding of aperture, ISO and shutter speed), a 35mm or 50mm and macro lens for newborn session, 50mm or 855mm and wide angle lens (Kansas uses a 16-35mm and 8-15mm) for outdoor session, memory cards and laptop. Macro and laptop are optional.
After deposit has been made you will receive a more detailed itinerary and registration packet via e-mail. Please be advised all attendees are required to sign a Contract stating that they will refrain from teaching a newborn photography workshop or 1:1 mentoring after taking a KMP/KPP Workshop.

Babies & Beaches Model Search
Award Winning Photographers Keri Meyers & Kansas Pitts are searching for models (newborns 12 days or younger, children and families) for our upcoming Babies & Beaches Workshop on December 6th & 7th, 2013 on the island of Kauai. In exchange for participating you will receive the session free of charge as well as a password protected online viewing gallery of your images (viewable for 5 days) and five high resolution images on DVD. Additional prints/product may be purchased, but is not required. Families must sign a model release form allowing Keri & Kansas and their guest photographers to use the images taken at the workshop for their websites, marketing and promotional purposes.
