erin + adam | boardwalk beach resort wedding and reception

I had only spoken with Erin on the phone during her planning process- she lives in Illinois but had always vacationed here as a child and throughout her life. Her daddy lives here now-she called him her little “Jimmy Buffett daddy” 😉 When I walked in I was struck by simply how beautiful Erin was and also how laid back. She and Adam have been together for 10 years & wanted this to be a fun, easy wedding and that is what they got. Everyone was fantastic! They had the ceremony under the pavilion which was a good thing because right as they were saying their vows the rain began to fall so hard but it only lasted a minute and then, as you will see, God gave us the most gorgeous skies to finish their fabulous day. Erin said it felt magical as she said her bows and listened the to rain fall. The other unique touch that I LOVED about this wedding were the readings…no bible verse, no poems (traditional ones anyway), but they had a passage from “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Suess read. I love love love that.

The light was so yummy in their as the sun went down…

I glanced out to the beach and noticed the sun set so I grabbed Erin & Adam and said, I know you may not want to be pulled away, but you MUST come with me for a few minutes. They followed me to the beach and I took a few images but mostly Erin laid her head on Adam’s shoulder and they watched their first married, beach sunset together-the first of many! NExt year, she said, they may be coming back with a little someone extra 😉

The kids were quite enjoying the sunset and playing on the beach too 😉

I almost lost it when she and her daddy danced-that father/daughter dance always get’s me…

But he knew how to cheer her up after!

P I N

But it looks like he was having a pretty good  time too 😉

I wonder what the grandparents were chatting about? They were so cute 😉

Nancy H - What a gorgeous, gorgeous event!!! So happy for you, Mr. & Mrs. Cannady. We are so blessed to have Adam in our KRC “family” and wish you happiness together that only grows with time …

Erin Cannady - Kansas, you are AMAZING! These photos are so beautiful. They capture our special day and you made us feel so relaxed and we had a blast taking the photos with you and Jon. You are so beyond talented. If any brides stumble across this blog or Kansas Pitts Photography you will kick yourself if you do not choose her as a photographer! I am not one to promote but I just had to do a shout out because she is the Best and her photos are simply lovely. The pictures were the most important part of my planning process because at the end of the night you have your memories and you have your photos (and your new husband/wife!) and because I chose you to be our photographer I know as we grow old together I will have the most amazing photos to bring us back and remember our wedding day. We can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures! Thanks Kansas.

Also, thank you so much Nikki (hi girl!), Nancy H (my KRC fam member and Valda for your kind words. It really was a magical perfect day. :)
