Oh and thanks to Beyond the Wanderlust for making Janie’s image a Fav
Another update….Janie’s image was chosen by NAPCP in their International Image Competition as a 3rd Place Winner!
My sister in law is pregnant with her third boy (and there are 6 years between this one and her last – so fun to start over when you are a little older-she’s younger than me-but from someone who knows, having a baby later is sometimes just so much more relaxed and fun than it was with the older ones). She is in school for her nurse practitioners license and so she wanted to go ahead and do her maternity session a bit early (she is maybe 29 weeks?). I happily obliged -creatively I have been a little lacking since having Hudson so I needed a project to really get those juices flowing. I wanted to do something fun, unique, and a little out of the box. I am so thrilled with the results; it is truly an epic maternity session!
The first place we went to was Pitt Springs in Panama City (how fitting since both our last names are Pitts – my husband and her husband are brothers). The weather didn’t really cooperate-it was overcast which made the dead trees even uglier! But I had a vision in mind and I am so happy they came out how I wanted – it just took a little more editing work than perhaps doing them in the summer when everything is sun shining and green & lush but so worth it! I put a few ‘befores’ on Instagram if you want to look (www.instagram.com/photogingmama). As we were leaving the sun was peeking from behind the clouds that had hidden it all day and was creating this beautiful rosegold glow so we literally pulled over on the side of a highway and jumped out to grab a few-wowzers you would never have known that the day was super ugly because those last few minutes were amazing!
My hubby snapped a few behind the scenes of us – amazingly enough in the cold January weather in a spring, it wasn’t as cold as we would have thought. The kids ended up getting in in their underwear!
So the next night they drove over for dinner with all the kids and a quick 20 minute sunset shoot to wrap up her maternity pictures. We KNEW that was going to be freezing and it was!! After the initial 57 degree shock it wasn’t too bad…Janie was a champ! And just flipping glowing!
