Jon & I flew out to Nashville last weekend to capture a truly unique engagement session; something completely different for me. Both Jimmy (Crazy Hearts on A&E, Nashville, Currently touring) & Kristen (Currently touring and about to release new music) are singer/songwriters in Nashville and wanted to do something that really centered around what they love and how they met. She had sent me a Pinterest board and we had chatted but at lunch the day of while sitting in our fav Nashville lunch spot Whiskey Kitchen, Jimmy looked up and saw on old grainy, edgy black and white picture of an old country music artist-that was it-their style in one image. Instantly I knew this would be a completely different session than my previous ones. So, after a few drinks over lunch we got ready and drove outside of town.
Sitting out in a field in the country outside of Nashville listening to the trains roll past on the tracks, Jimmy singing to Kristen, it was exactly perfect for them. It happened the way I think everyone wanted it to-nothing cheesy or posed-just authentic images of the two of them in a tour bus (like the one they met on), in a bar and onstage; just as they live their lives. Authentic, real, so…them.
