Sessions from my past workshops:
Imagine…toes in the sand, cold drink (well maybe Starbucks in February) in your hand, leafing through your goodie bag and waiting for the fun to begin at the Friday Night Welcome Dinner. Accommodations & fabulous food are taken care of while you relax, learn, and meet a group of like-minded photographers who can share this experience and take knowledge home to ignite your portrait business, just in the time for the summer portrait rush! Come to the beach, meet me, and learn and meet fabulous ladies and go home with lots of goodies, knowledge, and a fire to get 2014 started!
I am holding a small group portrait workshop to entail everything from finding the light at different times of day to golden hour portrait sessions & rounding it out with marketing, SEO, legal info, and editing. I want you to learn a ton in an amount of time that is feasible for you to be away from your business & family so I created an action packed 1+ day workshop jammed with lots of real sessions so you can get your camera clicking, your mind lightbulbing, and your portfolio expanding. After all, I have 3 little ones my self and I know how hard it is to be away 😉
Could you, would you, should you? Yes! Here is what some of my past attendees had to say:
This workshop exceeded all my expectations. Every photographer that has their own business or just loves photography and is looking to improve their skills MUST attend this workshop. I am not a professional photographer and I learned more that I could imagine. Kansas was so helpful and answered all questions that we all had. You will learn everything from positioning your clients for amazing light to post processing tricks! Kansas is a genuine, relaxed and fun person who truly wanted to help us all learn the most we could. This workshop was organized and every detail was thought of. If you have the opportunity to take one of Kansas’s workshop, don’t hesitate, you will be so thankful you did. Thank you, Kansas! It was such an great experience~Jennifer, October 2013
What was your favorite part of the workshop? EVERYTHING! The welcome dinner was AMAZING. The cake to DIE for! Marketing, lighting, shooting etc., clarified clearly to me the goals I want to accomplish in my photography career. Learning your techniques and how you interact with your clients is all knowledge that will help me in the future. Your editing process and learning what we did on SEO, (even though it was over my head, at least I know who to hire in order to get the most out of it). I really could go on and on. I am a huge fan of yours and I can’t wait to apply all that I learned.I loved being able to meet everyone…. Thanks you so much for an amazing experience. It is one that I will ALWAYS CHERISH!~Cathy, 2013
Being able to get a behind the scenes with Kansas was amazing! Loved watching her in action with her clients and then being able to see her workflow and post processing. Kansas is laid back and relaxed yet amazingly organized as a business woman. I learned some amazing things that I can apply to my business to enhance my current workflow and cut a lot of time out of my editing! I appreciated her candor, her honestly and knowing that she is ultra “real” ~ left me encouraged and energized! I have met a lot of people in my industry and she is a kind, caring individual that I am proud to now call my friend! Loved her home, her family and her workshop! I encourage you to take a workshop from Kansas – you will be glad you did!! ~ Janean, September 2013

*Due to the fact that there are not any homes that have 12 bedrooms (that I can find) there is a possibility that you will have to share a bedroom with someone. If you come or meet another photographer here you will sharing a room if need be. This all depends solely on how many photographers register to say at the beach house. Bedroom picking will be done upon arrival and you will pick your accommodations in the order in which you registered. In other words, the first to register are the first to pick their rooms upon arrival on Friday 😉
Due to the possibility of booking up-if you don’t get a response from me within an hour please email me directly at kansasleah@yahoo.com just in case!
