August 2017 Bahamian Workshop Announcement | Kansas Pitts Photography Workshops

I am so excited to have the opportunity to travel to the Bahamas in the fall and I hope you can join me – it is going to be epic <3 This is going to be a small group workshop and I can’t wait! This workshop’s business section will more specifically deal with the issues of being a vacation photographer (those that capture families on vacation) . That includes how to find those clients, the best ways to show them their images and give them the best customer service no matter where they are, product offerings, etc. I think photographers like myself (and possibly you if you live in South Florida, the Bahamas, or other gorgeous destinations), who not only photograph local families and weddings but also have lots of traveling families face unique marketing and advertising issues. We will still talk about all the regular information for our local clients and the basics but this workshop will have some special implications for photographers whose demographic include families traveling on vacation.

I am so glad to be teaching again after taking some time off from having my 4th and last, Baby Hudson. Truth is I LOVE TEACHING – its the deciding the what and hows that make me procrastinate (vulnerable moment here) because I want to do it all, teach it all, and make sure that each one of you gets the most out of it that you can, something that transforms both your images and your business and, honestly, not to be melodramatic but…..your life. You can have a successful, profitable business and create gorgeous images for both your clients and feed your soul and have an amazing family…I want to be a part in building that. So when I got the opportunity to teach on a gorgeous island I thought – YAS! I can’t be the only one who needs this <3

Although we are not doing a formal Welcome Dinner, if all the girls are in town on Friday night I am hoping we can meet up and get to know one another and maybe have dinner and/or drinks. That is my favorite part…I want to form relationships not just teach. When we set aside time to chat and talk shop not only can you gain perspective from me but from the other photographers there as well. Then Saturday will begin the “real deal” – full on everything we can cram in! I have a full schedule but just to give you an idea here is what I have in mind it’ll go something like this…

Saturday:      Sunrise Family Beach Session

Back to the Beach House for…

Breakfast…and

Editing (using that session as well as generalizing to other editing)

Lunch (Shop Talk/Working Lunch)

Business, Marketing, SEO, Website Stuff, IPS model vs. online galleries, etc.

WHEN: August 5, 2017

LOCATION: Nassau, Bahamas

AIRPORT CODES: NAS (Nassau) | I am finding that most flights are around $250 from many places

FERRY: From South Florida & Between Islands: Bahamas Ferry | Bahama Shuttle Boat | Direct Ferries  (more on the Bahamas site listed above)

ACCOMMODATIONS: As of now this is a BYOA (bring your own accommodations) but if enough ladies will not be bringing spouses/kids I have a beach house that we can split. That will be decided in the private group. Otherwise you can begin the search for lodging at www.bahamas.com.

WHAT’S INCLUDED: Pastries and coffee for Saturday breakfast, lunch on Saturday, dinner Saturday night as well as a $500 gift certificate to my SHOP, a super fabulous beach bag with lots of goodies from our workshop sponsors, and all the information and practice you can soak up in a day – seriously my workshop girls will tell you…I am an open book!

WHAT DO  YOU NEED? We will go over all that once you are all signed up and in the private group. As far as qualifications just a basic understanding of your camera and your imagination and inquisitive mind!
